I had the same issue when I did my install. Got the electrician to come back and revert the db back and had him install the sonoff loadshedder kit... have seen a huge drop since then. The geyser is the biggest power consumer, so makes sense to have the solar do the hard stuff if possible

Was a little skeptical as I called them for a quote in solar panels and the sent me a quote within minutes... this is where we have come to in this country... we get worried when we receive good service🤣

We don't use alot of electricity. With loadshedding the way it is we only use 350 to 400 units a month. I presume units would increase if we have uninterrupted power... but not alot

2 or 4 PV DC fuse holders with fuses(1 or 2 strings) 
2 or 4 SPD for panels (1 or 2 strings) 
2 x 3 way switch type fuse holder + fuses for batteries
3m x 35sq mm red and black cable for batteries
1 x 1m 70sq mm red and black cable for inverter battery input
2 x 32A AC MCB for in and out supply to and from inverter
2 pole SPD for AC
40A transfer switch
Suitable labels
40x40 trunking to suit your layout
PVC glands to suit
Earth spike
+/- 20m x 10mm earth wire to spike
