Is it possible that the patch cable is not galvanically isolated? Do you have a MK3 USB that you can use between the Venus and the Quattro. This may help in troubleshooting.

Very informative. Wondering how the inverter-charger knows that the battery is full since your battery BMS is not connected to your inverter. I assume the BMS shuts down the battery if the voltage drops to the Cutoff level. Thanks a million.

This is great. I have a few questions. Did you need any special settings in your inverter? What is your absorption voltage set as and for how many hours? What is the low voltage cutoff level? How does your inverter know when the battery is fully charged? Via a BMV? It may be a great idea to document your setting up of the inverter, battery and your charging practices to help others in future. Thanks.

1 Charger 1 Inverter Setup as UPS
I have a 1600VA 24V Victron inverter that can run most of my base loads. My only grouse with the system is that the changeover time is too long for my network equipment. Since we have several power outages every day, I have to manually restart my network equipment several times a day. These are options I am proposing to resolve the problem: 1. Getting a small smart UPS and connecting the network equipment to it. Not sure if this is the most elegant way to solve the problem. 2. Getting a bigger 24V inverter charger and running my 24V Victron 1600VA inverter charger solely as an inverter to continuously invert and power my network devices 24/7 via battery power. The bigger inverter-charger will be used to continuously charge the 24V battery and act as a power supply unit. What are the merits/demerits of these solutions? Are there any better options?

I recently installed a 24V battery bank- 4 units of 6V 360Ah USbattery batteries and I am looking to get the longest life out of the batteries. So, I am trying to read up about lead-acid batteries. The files I am interested in are the Handbook for Stationary Lead Acid Batteries, Parts 1 and 2.

Need advice to run 2 Inverters on one battery bank.
I just bought a 24V Victron 1.3KW Multiplus inverter charger to run electronic gadgets and lights in my house. My battery bank is 4 units of flooded 360Ah usbattery 6V. I am thinking of running a 2nd inverter on the same 24V battery bank to power my refrigerator and deep freezer, about 800W total. The 2nd inverter may be a xantrex inverter without charger function. Is it possible to design the system in such a manner that the 2nd inverter will only work when the battery SOC is between 90-70% and dropping? This is to prevent total depletion of the battery bank. However, there may be issues with switchover to grid power when power is restored because the Xantrex inverter has no inbuilt changeover switch. Any ideas how I can accomplish this?
