Deye LiFePo4 5kw Battery Temperature
Concerned about my battery temperature - I'm not running it that hard. the battery is outside in balcony under a awning and it's summer now in South Africa. Notice that battery is a few degrees celcius higher - How much is will degrade the battery life? Should I move the battery somewhere else if possible?

Repair cable insulation with insulation tape
Am running 10mm house wire in trunking between mains and hybrid inverter. Just discovered a small tear (under 1cm) in my live wire insulation, earth is also damaged at that point - about 10cm of insulation. None of the conductors looks damaged - just the insulation. Have wrapped Nitto insulation around it - is this fine?

TNS earthing confirmation?
I thought from these two figures below (from Annex J - SANS 10142) I would just be able to look at the distribution board on my street (source of energy/source earth??) and if N and PE are separate then it a TNS? Am I missing something?
-
TNS earthing confirmation?
With a multimeter set on continuity between the 2 blue points in diagram (one lead on the circuit breaker where neutral first arrives and other lead on busbar where earth first arrives)

TNS earthing confirmation?
Please can someone confirm if this is a TNS earthing? (and not TN-C-S) This is a picture from the outside mains distribution board on my street. I'm in South Africa. Below is a picture of my home distribution board.

NH Fuse between 48V Battery and Inverter
From CHINT West Asia&Africa " Hi, Thanks for your attention to CHINT. We do not have fuse for DC48V application "

Sizing PV Surge Protector
I have found Surge devices online for 400V and 450V. Is the 400V a better fit? Or should I stick with 500V. Concerned that the 500V might be too close to max inverter voltage to protect the inverter from surge.

Sizing PV Surge Protector
I have a Sunsynk 5.5kw Inverter with 6 x JA Solar 545 Panels in series with Total Open Circuit Voltage(Voc) [V] = 298.5 Total Maximum Power Voltage(Vmp)[V] = 250 I have installed a 275V Surge Protector, by sizing for Voc and max inverter voltage (500V). Should I have sized for Vmp instead? Is a 500V Surge Protector more suitable? Assumed that it should would never go above the the Maximum Power Voltage, but it does around midday and I think it is being cut by the Surge Protector.

NH Fuse between 48V Battery and Inverter
Regarding the cable size, maybe I was searching for the wrong type. Can you sent me the reference where you found 35mm2 cable for 125A? The Sunsynk manual lists this: But when I checked a few of the cable specs, 70 sq.mm for 125A (+25% extra just in case) Eg. Below site sells 70mm2 cable as max current 151? https://www.sustainable.co.za/products/single-core-70mm-hv-dc-cable-1m-red?_pos=7&_sid=2b29cebc8&_ss=r Another site lists the below:
-
NH Fuse between 48V Battery and Inverter
70mm battery cable, cause battery can go up to 125A for a short time

NH Fuse between 48V Battery and Inverter
Thanks, that's what i wanted to know

NH Fuse between 48V Battery and Inverter
4.91kw (https://deye.com/product/sunb-5-0-g01-48-pc/) and 5kw (https://www.sunsynk.org/5kw-hybrid-inverter) It's my first install so went for smaller fuses just in case - will upgrade 125A later, if that is correct?

NH Fuse between 48V Battery and Inverter
Is this fuse suitable for 48V DC between battery and inverter? Will it extinguish the dc arc? It's being sold as battery fuse at retailer. I've installed it but am now questioning whether it is correct. The AC690V seems to be highlighted. Other fuses that are sold as battery fuses also don't have DC on it?

Sunsynk 8KVA Trips Earthleakage
I've self installed my Sunsynk and have a 15m 10mm house wire cable between mains and the feed in for inverter. Am concerned that it is not safe due to not having an E/L between the two. What if something goes wrong with the inverter? From my reading Sunsynk recommends a RCD before the inverter? Should I try and get 100ma RCD or not waste my time.
