Cheers Plonkster, much appreciated. Just saw 4 x 120ah Omnipower batteries on Gumtree for R12k - bought new in March 2020 and never used. Yay or Nay?

I saw this on MyBB forum: This guy connects the straight to the back of the 2400Va Mecer inverter. "My setup doesn't have have any switching. I just have the solar charge controller 28.8 v +ve & -ve straight on to the +ve & -ve on the back of the Mecer. It works a treat. In full sun the solar overrides the Mecer charger, and with no sun the Mecer takes over (eg: at night).I've tested it by: killing mains, Mecer runs off batteries. Then kill batteries - Mecer carries on running off solar alone. Been like this for 4 months now and no problems."

Hi Guys, I just bought a 2400va Mecer Trolley inverter. Can I use a solar panel and my WRND 20A solar regulator direct to the batteries ? Mecer do have a solar charger available @ R1 000 , then the solar panel plug direct into the Mecer box / trolley. I want to bypass the inverter en connect my WRND straight onto the batteries. Will this be safe to do? Regards,

My batteries in Trailer are connected positive to positive and negative to negative (parallel) then one battery positive and the other battery negative goes to my HCDP panel. I will connect inverter to one battery positive and negative to the other battery. One more question.... One of the battery's negative is grounded to trailer body. I want to connect inverter negative on the other battery (negative not grounded) due to lack space on the negative terminal of the battery that is grounded. Will this be OK? Regards

Hi guys I'm installing the above mentioned inverter in my camping trailer. * Is 10mm² cable overkill (max 3.5m long)? * Do I need to fuse the + close to battery? * I have two 105ah batteries in parallel. Do I just connect + & - to one of the batteries or to + on one battery and - on the other? Stay safe guys

Any recommendations on making a splitter for 3 solar panels that need to connect to my trailer's single Bard Harrison plug (Solar Input). I see you get 3-way MC4 Connectors. I'm thinking to use this and then terminate the other end with the matching Brad Harrison for the trailer side. Any advice will be welcome.

Easily around 50 metres. Its obviously not a straight line. The cable lies looped etc.

Hi Jaws, I think all the cabling is sufficient up to the Dimmer. The only worry I have is the extremely thin Twin flex used from the dimmer all the way throughout the 31 Led modules. They do loose brightness the further they are from the battery / solar regulator

Hi guys, I installed the attached system to have lights in my house during Load Shedding. Where do I need to place fuses and what size fuses would I need? Currently I have NO fuses in the system. Just added them to the drawing, but not sure if they can go there. Another issue I have is that the first few LED modules closest to the Battery / solar regulator is very bright, but further down the line the brightness drops down significantly. I used normal white flat twin flex from the Dimmer Control unit. Me thinking the twin flex is too thin. I'm no expert in this field so please bare with me. Regards
