  1. Hi the quotes I got for axpert with batteries, panels and installation was about 125k 5kw axpert Inverter 3900w 12x 325w panels 2x 3500w pylontech batteries Monitoring box combiner box and installation. But then I got quotes for victron Heralds electrical's prices was a bit wild. Went with Sonop solar as they deliver country wide and have good prices I went with smaller mono panels and smaller batteries, but me and a buddy did the installation ourselves. So I saved about 15k to 20k on the installation. So for just the equipment it worked out about the same as the axpert with installation.-I did install smaller batteries- will add on another battery this year still. So with installation a Victron setup will be about 145k to 150k I assume.
  2. Hi @DielTou I went with a totally different setup. 250v 85a victron mppt controller 4kw victron inverter 2x 2400w pylontech batteries Victron venus gx controller And 12 x 305w mono black ja solar panels
  3.    ___ reacted to a post in a topic: Hybrid inverter and prepaid meter
  4. Meter is more than 10 years old so don't know about 2021
  5. Anybody know's if this will work with any other inverters? Some people on 4x4 forum says it works with most inverters? Hopefully it will work with a goodwe or infinisolar? https://www.sustainable.co.za/microcare-kaco-single-phase-grid-tie-limiter.html
  6. I have a Talexus Actarus. The installer gave the meter one look and said he recommends a axpert, so don't know if I must maybe settle for a infinisolar e 5.5kw ?
  7. Hi Are there any SANS approve hybrid inverter that doesn't trip a prepaid meter? My installer says goodwe 4.6kw will trip my prepaid meter and wants to install a Axpert 5kw MKS now, but looks like there is a issue with the axpert also if I look at the " Is your system legal?" section...
  8. My prepaid meter is a Talexus Actarus.
  9. Will it do anything to my prepaid meter?
  10. Doesn't mode 1 feed into the grid also?
  11. Hi, can anybody tell me if the goodwe 5048d-es can be setup to prioritize it's power sources? Solar power when PV is sufficient, if PV is insufficient use the batteries and when the batteries are drained only then use utility power?
  12. Hi can anybody tell me if the goodwe can be setup to use solar in the day and at night to drain the pylontech batteries first before switching to utility power? some sales people say it will only drain the batteries if there's no solar or utility power?
  13. Ok,maybe I must buy 10 of these panels instead of the Kumax panels? https://www.solar-shop.co.za/solar-panels/211-canadian-solar-400wsuper-high-power-poly-perc-hiku.html CS3W 400P Nominal Max. Power (Pmax) 400 W Opt. Operating Voltage (Vmp) 38.7 V Opt. Operating Current (Imp) 10.34 A Open Circuit Voltage (Voc) 47.2 V Short Circuit Current (Isc) 10.90 A Module Efficiency 18.11% Panel Array will be 4000W PV Array Open Circuit Voltage will be 472v Max Operating Voltage will be 387v
  14. But now the other question is will the 3.5kw pylontech batteries be compatible with the mks ii inverters?
  15. Looked on the internet, vm ii doesn't support parallel. Looks like my best bet is then to parallel 2 mks ii 5kw inverters?
