  1. Jumping in here very late... So the details are similar here... JHB, city power, ITRON meter... but post paid... Now since moving in to the house I could not be bothered to power on the display unit (heck I get a bill at the end of the month). Since adding solar panels to the mix I was curious... now The inverter is not set to feed back... we have the sunsynk default of 20w coming from the grid. Today I powered up the display for the first time... and it wasn't on for a full hour before I got a "feed back detected" alarm. It doesn't trip, shows the contactor as closed... and just keeps on going anyway. So now the question... I get it doesn't work on the credits... but are you saying the total usage does actually roll back? Has anyone else had these feed back alarms and did city power do anything about them? Curious as I often have excess solar in the afternoon and wouldn't mind off-setting a couple of R's extra on the bill...

  3. Yet another update... So DCB had a very wrong, very non existent, address on the waybill for delivery. It was finally delivered this morning. As frustrating as this was... The kit delivered was a humble cps 3000 from bluenova... Colour me impressed! Well thought out, put together really well!
  4. Update on this... So eventually got hold of the bluenova guys... Now some background... Placed an order on the 17th of December and paid. The order was apparently dispatched and shipped via DCB logistics. By the 23rd... Still nothing, decided to get hold of bluenova again. Eventually get a response on the 24th. They provide me with the shipping details. I try them on DCB's site and get "Status:AT DESTINATION / AWAIT DELIVER". Now I'm still without inverter and batteries, no response from DCB and the best I get from Victor from bluenova is "well you have the waybill information, they're not responding to me either"... Make of this what you will. I'm sure they make excellent products and I've heard they have great support... But this leaves a bit of a taste. I know it's closing time for them at the moment as with many other companies, but surely they should follow up and make sure things get delivered?!? (Especially as I never had the tracking information until I actually harassed them for it)
  5. Thanks! Unusual to see that much contact info on the web page (feeling rather stupid now).
  6. Hi everyone, I'm looking for contact details for bluenova. I ordered a backup system from them and now I can't get hold of them to find out where it is... Thanks!
  7. I'm the cowboy here it seems:-P I've been running my pool of a regular sonoff 10A for several years now. Did toast a relay once when the capacitor on the pump died... 10A relay... 15A breaker...
  8. Had a sonoff running my pool pump... until the capacitor on the pool pump died... 10A relay, 15A breaker... no flames though, only killed the relay. Getting the dead relay out isn't difficult and replacing it with a big solid state relay is easy enough... makes the wiring a bit weird but it takes the sonoff out of the path of the current so probably the safer way round. (Also the bigger SSRs have a metal back for a heat sink... if you're really worried)
