Batteries with different SOC
Hi experts I have a bank of 8 Pylontech US3000s and US3000Cs connected to 2 Mecer 5.5kw inverters. These are connected to 24 PVs of 330W in 8 strings of 3. I'm running the SMH Solar Management Hub. Everything has worked well for a couple of years now. However my batteries seem to charge much slower than usual in the last few weeks. On a full day of sun I'm battling to charge more than 40-50% I noticed something strange today: The 3 Pylontech US3000C's were at SOC 56% and the 5 Pylontech US3000's were at 76%. The system is showing 68% overall SOC. Does anyone know why this would happen and how to correct it? Many thanks! Deon

500A DC breaker required
Morning all and happy Xmas almost! I need a 500A DC breaker to fit between my battery busbar and my inverters busbar. I can't seem to find any supplier (except municipal for R20,000!) Does anyone know where I can get one. It's the last component I need to upgrade my system. Many thanks!

Combining 2 systems??
Hi I live on a farm 100% off grid. I have 7 fridge freezers, workshop, chicken breeding lamps etc. so i am in the process of doubling my capacity as we get more and more infrastructure. My geysers and boreholes are all on independent solar systems. I don't require a huge load rating but I do need power for a long time if the weather is poor. Cheers

Combining 2 systems??
Exactly my sentiment! There's more than enough other things to go wrong on a farm lol!

Combining 2 systems??
Hi. I am 100% off grid on a farm with many fridges and freezers, cold room, chicken lamps etc, so its needed! I have 20 545 panels to add. Its looking like getting a second 11kw invertyer may be the best option....

Combining 2 systems??
Thank you very much! Another option to consider. Much appreciated!

Combining 2 systems??
Thank you Greenfields, I hadn't thought of that option. Its a little complicated but certainly an option. Appreciate it!

Combining 2 systems??
Hello experts I have 2 Mecer SOL-I-AX-5P inverters connected in parallel each with their own incoming PV string from 2 strings of 12 JA Solar 330W panels. These are connected to 8 Pylontech US3000 3.6Kwh batteries and then to my DB board. This is a totally off grid system and has been working great. I have now purchased a Mecer SOL-I-AX-11M which will have 2 strings of 10 Mecer 545W SOL-P-M-545 PVs coming into the 2 MPPTs. This will be connected to 8 Pylontech batteries also US3000 3.6Kwh batteries. My questions are: 1. Is there any way to connect the new inverter in parallel with the other 2 to create one system? My instinct says no because they are not exactly the same inverters? (But I would truly love to be wrong!). 2. If this cannot be done, is there any way to combine the two systems’ AC outputs into my DB board? I have a feeling my lovely wife is not going to be happy that I didn’t know these answers before we spent the money!! Thank you

Grid charge rate to batteries governed?
Hi guys I've looked at the manual but I cant find what I'm looking for. Now I need the help of the experts! I have 2 Axpert SOL-I-AX-5P inverters and 6 Pylontech US3000 batteries. I've managed to connect a generator to charge my batteries when we have bad weather and it works great. I've noticed that when running the gennie, the input power that is charging the batteries after the load is covered seems to be governed in some way to around 1.2KW. If the PVs do start to generate power this is added to that. My gennie is capable of putting out 5 or 6 KW comfortably. My question is is there a grid charge rate that is perhaps set too low and what setting is this? With the price of petrol I want to shorten the time i have to run the gennie as much as possible! Many thanks in advance guys!!

PV or grid charges batteries at different wattages
You've just solved a problem I didn't realize I had! My charging rate seems to be governed in some way and now i know why!!

Mecer 5Kva Low battery alarm 04
I'm currently using something called SMH (Solar Management Hub) ver 2.1.0 supplied by Centurion Solar. This runs on a Raspberry Pi. There is 1 cable from the inverter to the Pi and 1 Console cable from the master battery to the Pi, so I've always assumed that that is doing the management for me. Would Solar Assistant do a better job? Thanks for your help!

Mecer 5Kva Low battery alarm 04
Setting 5 is USE Thank you very much, I think I'll change setting 13 to 48v and see what difference that makes. the alarm doesn't cut my inverter, its just a loud, incessant noise!

Mecer 5Kva Low battery alarm 04
Hi everyone Apologies, I live on a farm and its sometimes difficult to get to everything quickly 😑. My inverter is a Mecer SOL-1-AX-5P My settings are Setting 12 - 46V Setting 13 - 49V Setting 29 - 45.5V I'm currently running 6x Pylontech US3000 batteries and 2 US300C batteries with 24x 320W panels Any advice on what these settings should be to prevent the 04 low voltage alarm? Many thanks!

Mecer 5Kva Low battery alarm 04
Hello guys New to the forum and I have searched for this answer but with no luck. Perhaps someone here can give me some advice! I'm currently running 6x Pylontech US3000 batteries through 2 Mecer 5Kva inverters with 24x 320W panels. Sometimes when I turn on the kettle and percolator in the morning I get an Error 04 alarm - Low battery voltage. However, my SOC is usually around 60% still. I could understand if my SOC was very low but it isn't. This does not turn off until I start getting positive power through my PV's later. Is there a configuration setting I can/should change? I am totally off grid (no Eskom). Cheers!
