September 27, 20214 yr Hi All, I am new to this forum and hopeful I can have my system issues resolved with your help. I have 2 Synapse 7.2kw Off Grid inverters in parallel connected to 8 Pylontech 3000B batteries in a parallel Master/Slave setup. The Master inverter uses the special COMMS cable for battery info/management. The issue I am having is that the slave inverter (not connected to battery management) keeps showing a different SOC than the master inverter. Both in app and on the display. I thought it was supposed to get its info from the master but clearly trying to do its own thing. Slave also consistently in an ERROR code 04 state. In the settings the master inverter is set up for Parallel operation and Pylontech battery type. Slave set to Parallel and USER for battery type as per the manufacturer's instructions. All other setting reflecting same on both inverters. Firmware recently updated to 45.07 by supplier. Has anyone come across this issue and know how to resolve so both inverters reflect same SOC and then charges batteries accordingly as 1 unit. Happy to provide further info if it helps solve this. If in an error state, it likely won't do much, possibly including updating the SOC. That sounds like the DSP firmware; there is also display firmware that talks directly to the BMS. It might be worth updating the display firmware, at least on the unit that connects to the battery.
September 27, 20214 yr Author Thanks. Definitely warning code not error. It all worked fine with my previous system of 2 Axpert 5kw inverters. Since upgrading inverters I got this issue.

Genuine Voltronic inverters have fairly accurate voltage and current measurements, which seems to be achieved by correcting measurements with a scale (and sometimes also an offset) value that is stored in EEPROM. Clones may just supply the EEPROM with default values to save the labour of calibration. If so, their measurement accuracy would be much poorer. This may not matter much for a stand-alone inverter (probably the vast majority of cases), but when paralleled, it may cause problems. Note that this is just after I decide that most recent Synapses seem to be rebranded but genuine Voltronic Power inverter-chargers. Just something to think about. When the load is low (so that battery cable voltage drops are less significant), do the two inverters tend to report the same battery voltage, with possibly just an 0.1 V (1 least significant digit) difference? You might have to use the front panels to get these readings, depending on the monitoring software in use (if any). Edited September 28, 20214 yr by Coulomb
