Hey Guys,

I saw somewhere that you can connect directly via wifi (IP address) to the Solarman wifi dongle and maybe do firmware upgrades as well as setting changes via this interface.

I have my devices IP but not sure what username and passowrd to use? I tried using the serial number and password on the dongle itself and it doesnt seem to work, any ideas?

AFAIK,
1.For SolarMan the firmware is pushed by SunSync.org
2.The SolarMan is readonly (no can set values)
3.SolarMan changed the encryption so you can't access the SolarMan dongle directly anymore.

Thanks for the info, looks like its a no-go, wish theyd build this into the app \ website, would be so handy to be able to change settings remotely

Try Solar-Assistant - it has options to change some of the settings remotely on the SunSynk.
According to the video at:

the new app + new dongle will allow remote control.

As I understand there are three versions of Solarman:

• Solarman PV
• Solarman Smart
• Solarman Pro

The first two are reporting tools, with Smart having more functionality than PV.

Pro is intended for installers, but you can set yourself us as your own installer (will require 2 email addresses), allowing remote control of system parameters. Look here ... 

 

Thanks! I managed to sign up for a business account and have added my logger and can see the inverter and stats, when i go to device control it says no data for now, so will check back and see if i can change settings later on 🙂
 

👍 You did share your wi-fi login details with your dongle and link the dongle to your user account, right? Updates every 15 minutes - may take a while to upload accumulated data. There are web-accesed desktop versions of all three Solarman products as well - useful for keeping an eye without the boss thinking youre on whatsapp ...

Yeah all linked up, when i signed up for the business account it did say it could be 3 days to verify...so could be that

I didn't come right with this, I signed up for the business account and was able to authorize my plant to that business name but I am not able to change settings on the system... It just says it's not available, what a shame they limit you with the software, if I was someone that needed to monitor and change settings at a really remote site this inverter / solarman combo would be out of the question

Hey @MakoShark, care to share the steps to link Pro to PV or Smart profile? I did not nominate my "installer" when I set up the plant and it looks almost impossible to do so after the fact.

I'm not sure if I did it right but I just went into solarman home and went to the 3 dots at the top and selected authorize, then you search for the name of your business that you used when signing up for solarman business... That was it

That bit is not working ... My business / installer does not show when I search. I sent a hopeful dwmail to Deye support last night ...

There's a pro sign up which says business but that's not the one, you need to sign up as solarman business... They seem to have 3 sections, home, pro and business. I couldn't find my pro business but after signing up for business I found it 

After the latest Solarman update i cant seem to find my battery or inverter temperatures anymore,under the device/settings the ac temp and batt temp just dissapeared ? Anyone else with the same problem?

Same here ... I made a device data dump on Wednesday - 72 columns including BMS temperature and Battery temperature, but not inverter temperature.  Did the same just now and there is no temperature data. Wonder if Solarman is being dumbed down to create a perceived value gap with Sunsunk?

Hi, do you guys perhaps know what dongle to use for the Solarman SA Inverters, called the Schubart. Model Number is: PS 6800 VA, 48V 80A Hybrid Inverter. Solarman SA say they do not have Stock.
