Hi guys, planning an install for my rental property and need recommendations on which enclosure I can use to house a 5Kw Growatt inverter. The property does not have a garage, so the installation will have to be in a weather proof cabinet/enclosure and the battery will be in the house on the opposite side of the wall. Where can one get an enclosure in Johannesburg? please advise

I had a similar situation at the previous place I lived, a small place with no garage.  My reasoning was that the inverter needs free flowing air to keep it cool. I considered many options for enclosures, but they all seemed too “restrictive” to me.  I eventually ended up building a tool shed/Wendy house of 2m x 3m with a window and an extractor fan to make sure my inverter was kept cool and dry. In fact the inverter and batteries fitted in there and still allowed enough space for other miscellaneous items to be stored. It was an all-in-one solution for me.
Sadly it cost me R8k to build this shed, but I couldn’t have this whole solar setup in my lounge.

Consider a weatherproof inverter like Deye / Sunsunk which is IP65 rated. Then mount the batteries back to back against the same wall but on the inside?

EDIT: I see Growatt is also IP65, so mounting it outside should not be a problem. A basic canopy to keep out the worst rain and sun could be good idea.
