March 21, 20224 yr We currently have 4x Narada 12V-200ah gel batteries connected in series with Infini 10KW hybrid inverter. Planning on swapping out gel batteries with 2X Pylontech US3000. Currently we have a very thick wire (probably 2 AWG) to handle massive amps (200A) that inverter can pull from the battery bank. However, all the videos I'm seeing online have pylontech batteries seem to be connected in series via much thinner cables (see video below). Can someone clarify how is the voltage not increased when batteries are connected in series, since a battery is already 48V? and how are those thin cables able to handle large amount of amps? March 21, 20224 yr Those batteries in the video are connected in parallel. Series would have +ve connected to the next -ve. As for cable thickness, the Pylon cables are rated for 125A which should be more than enough for 2 x US3000 batteries. For more power, you can simply double up on the cables. About the cable thickness, the guy in the video below has UP5000 batteries daisy chained (parallel?) in what appears to be groups of 4, do these cables look thick enough to push 200+ amps?

Don't overthink the wire sizes between the batteries. Those are rated for 120A, but in the case where you need more than 5kW from your bank, you have to connect the inverter to both ends of the bank:
