Firmware update Challenge

Featured Replies

Hello.

Am trying to update the Kodak VIII MCU (display) firmware but I'm hitting a brick wall trying to get the laptop USB port and the inverter RS232 serial port via a USB to RS232 adapter cable to communicate. What am I getting wrong!

My guesses:

* You might have the wrong removable display update file. You need one for an Axpert VM III or an Axpert King (they use the same removable firmware image). For example, version 02.66.

* COM3 might not be the right COM port for your USB to serial adapter. On my laptop, COM3 and COM4 are standard serial over Bluetooth virtual serial ports. My USB to serial adapter is either COM5 or COM6 depending on what USB socket I plug it into. Use Device Manager / Ports to find out what COM port to use.

I got the display firmware update from the official distributor who gave me the same main firmware update that installed successfully.

Let me play around with the port COM settings.

Thank you very much.
