April 17, 20224 yr Hi Guys With the bad weather lasting about 3 days here in Limpopo I have run out of power. I wanted to plug in my generator as a back up to charge the batteries. It works well but the input and output voltage fluctuates between 220v and 255v is this okay? I don't want to damage anything either the inverter or my fridge, freezer, TV etc.. Any pointers etc.. Can I continue. with the generator? Regards Limpopoboy

Regards Limpopoboy You don't mention what inverter you are using. While running the genny disconnect all your loads and only charge the battery. Then when done stop genny and run from battery.

What is the charging kw setting on your inverter/battery setup? How stable is the output on your gen? What is the chance that you are pulling more than what the gen can supply?
