Expanding Pylontech batteries stack with DIY LiFePO4

Featured Replies

So as I spent a lot of money for my Pylontech US3000C batteries, I was thinking: is it possible to find a Pylontech BMS and connect it DIY LiFePO4 cells with the idea to expand my storage at low cost? I have some new LiFePO4 chinese cells that I want to hook up.

I could not find any Pylontech BMS board over the internet.

I guess this is possible if I set my Growatt inverters to US2 battery mode (custom charge/discharge mode) but I really want to keep the communication between the Pylontech BMS's and my Growatt inverters.

I believe this is the future as individual cells always well be way cheaper than pre-build modules and in 3-4 years we will have plenty of cheap options to upgrade our high cost existing systems.

Thanks

I find that dubious - unless you import a lot of them. And in that case it is cheaper to import complete batteries.

You won't find a Pylontech BMS...

agree, the pylontech bms is a elusive creation, pylontech cells on the other hand...I have a couple 25ah pylontech pouch cells lying around. weird thing is pylontech batteries is rated at .5c discharge rate, these cells are rated at 3c? 6000 cycles at 100%DOD 0.8c rate with 80% remaining.

I've always been of the opinion that the Pylontech .5c rate is for longevity.
