riaan199 Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Hey all I am in te proscsess of making sure I have all the correct wiring before fixing some issues with my setup. I have to older axpert 5kv inverters and working on the ac output from the inverter to the new DB. My El is rated for 63a, does this mean I am required to use a 63a rating cable into the sub db from the inverter out even if the interter wil not be able to output 63a. Quote
Irocmaster Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Are you pushing all your load thru the inverter? Stove geyser. The inverter can only handle 40A max in bypass and will trip at overload over 5KW. 4mm wire will work 100% for the AC connections. Quote
riaan199 Posted May 11, 2022 Author Posted May 11, 2022 I have a breaker from my main DB to the inverter input. Then the output of the inverter will only handle lights and a few plugs at the back of the house nothing with large loads. Tv lights pc thats about it. in the DB after the inverter I will only have a 20a vor plugs and 10a for lights. Howerver the current EL in die sencond DB from inverter output is rated for 63a and I am unsure if i need to change this and/or use a 63a rated cable from the inverter to the el because thats what its rated for. See photo of what the DB comming from inverter output would be. Ignore spaghetti wires it came like this from takealot. Quote
BritishRacingGreen Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 @riaan199 don't worry about the 63A ELD rating , it's only stipulating the max current the internal ELD components can handle . Your choice of Circuit Breakers however must match the wire size in the downstream direction from the breaker. Quote

Thank you yes the ouput wires is to plugs thats on th db this is how it came will be replacing that. I am basicly goingn to use the existing wires in the house and move it to the sub DB as they are already running to the lights and plugs correctly not goinh yo use that wires in there Quote
