Steering Diodes for Solar Panel Strings Question

Featured Replies

Hi solar gurus ,  I have two strings of Junko 460w  , 5  panels in series in each string.

Do I need external steering diodes to combine the two string to one PV input for the inverter.? I need to test the combined strength over the weekend , and can only lay my hands on diodes by Monday. Is there already  diode blocking inherent in the panels ?

At the moment I have 32 amp individual fuses for each string , plus  transient suppression .

Check panel datasheet. Mostly all panels have diodes fitted inside.
