August 20, 20224 yr Can anyone assist me with settings on SEMS please? I have a Goodwe GW5048D-ES Inverter with 3 Pylontech 3000 batteries and 20 x 255W panels. If you look at the 2 scenarios below from different times of day, the panels are providing more than the load but it is still drawing a lot from the grid to charge the batteries. I would like it to use the grid less and charge more from surplus PV production. M I have set PV Master to Economic Mode with 4 different charge/ discharge cycles (see screenshot image). The one thing I'm not sure of is where you set these time modes/ cycles, there is a setting "Rated power (%)" - not sure what that does? I have tried it at a low percentage and at 100%, but I don't notice any change. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. My second question is can I add more panels to this setup? They are currently set up in 2 strings of 10 panels each using both MPPT ports. I have never seen more than about 4100W production from the panels, but usually it is under 3800W. TIA
August 20, 20224 yr I don't think you should be in economic mode. General will probably suit you better. With eco mode, discharge will mean you discharge the batteries into the grid. It is meant for people with time of use tariffs that would like to charge when it is cheap and sell when they get paid the most.

In discharge mode it will only discharge into the grid if you allow that in the settings I think. If you look at the screenshot below taken 2 minutes into the discharge mode, it definitely contributes the discharge to the load. My issue is that 2 minutes before that the load was about 5000W, PV providing around 3100W, grid was providing over 6000W, around 3200 going into the batteries. I'm wondering if it pushes so much to the batteries because of the short window I have allocated to the charging mode?
August 21, 20224 yr Any specific reason you have it in economic mode? As @P1000says, General mode covers our normal scenrio here in SA (My Goodwe on general mode uses zero grid to recharge batteries)
December 21, 20223 yr [email protected] i have a 5 kw goodwe with 2 x pylon 3.5 kw and 6 x 550 w panels, need wiring diagram for DIY, can anyone assist, thanks
