Do you know if this version fixes the low power issue in cloudy conditions? Btw: yesterday I received the same version from the local reseller. He also provided display firmware 22.25. Are you interested? One more detail: When the batteries run dry the Axpert shuts itself down. Will it restart itself when sun hits the panels in the morning? Se esta infiltrando una frecuencia mayor de hercios en la salida de los 220 al sacar de batería ya que el equipo trabaja a alta frecuencia para subir el voltaje de 48 v a 220v. Para solucionar esto yo le ago. una pequeña jaula de Faraday al transformador de alta frecuencia y cambio el cableado que no pase por encima del transformador. That's certainly how my ancient 5 kVA model would work, but it has a very different solar charge arrangement. But I believe that they attempt to replicate the same behaviour on the high PV voltage models. The battery also has to co-operate, if it's one with a built-in BMS. Again, I suspect that it will, but don't know for sure.

Hi Coulomb, I am afraid that my knowledge does not reach far enough to "know 81.07". Until a few days ago all I understood about the 90V issue, is that it resulted in a drop out of production early in the morning. (Which indeed shows up in my system every morning: The system wakes up, I get a few Watts in, and then solar production stops again, only to return about half an hour or 40 minutes later.) And I thought that was it. Not much need for a patch from that respective. Further reading in this forum now makes me think that there is more to the story and that I could get more efficiency in cloudy conditions. However, I have no idea if 1: this assumption is correct and 2: how I could establish such inefficiency in my current system. Could you provide some insight? Thank you beforehand. Kind Regards, Kurt

Yes indeed. Some have reported being stuck at 90 V for two hours, then suddenly the voltage shoots up to 300 V and solar production triples. How much solar production was lost is sometimes hard to say, but a lot of forum readers believe that it's worth the effort of trying patched firmware. Occasionally, forum readers see a whole day stuck at 90 V! Generally, PV current is a good indication of available solar power. In full sun, Vmp (the PV voltage at which maximum power is obtained) is usually 5/6 of the open circuit voltage (because solar cells are about 0.6 V open circuit, and 0.5 V at maximum power). In cloudy conditions, the Vmp will be lower. Much lower in dark conditions, only a little lower in light cloud cover. You might be able to go over some of your historic PV data to estimate how much solar production you are likely losing. The main trick is to ignore times when the PV current is very low. At these times, it doesn't matter what the PV voltage is, the power will be insignificant anyway. In fact, at these times, you want the PV voltage to be low, so that the panels will give as much current as you can get out of them, so there is enough PV current to run the power supply for the solar charge electronics. Otherwise, it may not start early enough. This is presumably the reason for the "stuck at 90 V" logic in the first place; it's just that they keep the voltage low far too long! Perhaps others using the patched firmware would like to comment?

An older cable might no longer be compatible. But a driver is available to fix the problem. Hi Coulomb, Just successfully updated to 81.08 and 22.25. But to no avail. I still get Voltage readings. Could I be doing something wrong?

Does your monitoring software indicate that the update happened, i.e. that you now have the above two firmware versions? If so, I can't see why it would not work. It's possible that you need an even later version of the display firmware. Recently, 12.15 and 12.17 (for removable displays) came out, and seem to be later than 12.28. This reversion of numbering possibly indicates a change in protocol. Sorry, I don't have the equivalent 22.xx as yet.

But still, all is in Voltage rather than SoC%. 22.25 was the latest version the vendor has... I have informed him too, but so far no reply. I guess I will wait a few days and see what happens.
