September 9, 20223 yr Hi everyone I have a Deye 8kW Inverter with 7,2kW panels and 3x 5,1kW.h lithium batteries installed. The inverter is set up with zero export to CT with sell solar function off (should not export to grid) however I find that the inverter from time to time for a second or two, it does export power to the grid (usually 700W) however I can not see any units being pushed back into the grid it does show it on the Solarman smart app. Looking at the total grid feed in for the day it shows as 0,0kW.h for the day. My concern is that I have set up the inverter to use panels as 1st priority, battery as 2nd priority and grid as last resort. I don't buy any electricity from the grid thus the inverter pushing power back into the grid will give me a neg reading on my meter over a longer period of time if this continues. I have attached a screenshot of what is currently happening - it then immediately returns to work as it should after a few seconds. It might not be a big issue but I would like to understand why this is happening, if anyone has an idea please let me know. My thinking is that it is a software glitch but I am hoping for a better answer to give to the customer as to why it is happening. Thank you
January 5, 20233 yr I have a similar problem. My non-essentials like the geyser and oven are being fed by the battery at night time. Did you find a solution?
January 10, 20233 yr If your non essentials are been fed from the battery, then in all probability the connection at your DB is incorrect. It would mean that the non essentials are been fed through the Essentials side of the system. I assume that you turned the oven on - saw the discharge: turned it off and saw the discharge stop: The Installer needs to correct it - in my view
January 10, 20233 yr Author The non essentials are not being fed from the battery what so ever. During the day time when there is sun on the panels as per the screenshot it is allowing to push back to the grid for a few seconds at a time of 700W. The essentials and non essentials are split correctly in the DB.

Did you find a solution? These are separate issues. In this case, the battery can push power back to the non-essentials as a normal feature. Doing it depends on if you have "Zero Export to CT" activated, and at the same time have a "Time-of-Use" schedule activated that allows battery to drop below 100% at the time in question. Check if this is the case. if you don't want to use the battery to supplement your non-essential loads, either select "Zero Export to Load," or disable time of use, or set the battery level to 100%
March 26, 20233 yr Hi, I have a problem. Inverter sometimes feedback to grid and Utility prapaid trips "unsafe"

Its just great to see correct answers to a problem with the settings indicated.
April 18, 20242 yr I changed from Zero export to CT to Zero export to Load and this stopped me from pushing back anything onto the grid. TOU enabled, grid charge unticked. Only sometimes an impulse of about 20 watts to or from grid experienced. Some contradictions I found in the documentation...Inverter manual indicated that CT arrow should point to the inverter but on a different Deye manual I found online, it indicated that CT arrow should point to grid. I followed the supplied manual but found that the Zero export to CT allows operation from and to the grid hence the change to zero export to load.
