October 5, 20223 yr Hi When I recently added a US3000C battery to my installation I had difficulty communicating with the Inverter via PV master (PV master 4.4.7). Goodwe support supplied this User Manual for PV master V1.1-2022-03-03 that contained numerous other setting, far beyond of what I need. When I reported communication problem to Goodwe they informed me that the latest firmware = 242416 and my Inverter is on 212112, they tried an upgrade and I am now on 1212116. The upgrade is supposed to improve communication between PV master and the inverter. I've been requested "to do hard reboot the device, AC power off, PV off and then batteries off. wait 5 min and then start it back up in reverse" After the reboot is complete Goodwe will try to push the firmware update for you again. This usually resolve the issue. If the firmware is not successful you may have to contact your installer to come and do the firmware update locally using the link below. This seems to be a mission as you must unscrew covers connect a special USB etc, etc. Although there are isolators my installer warned me about isolating the PV feed, so I will do it when now power is generated. I still have issues with PV master, if I change the Ongrid DOD the Off grid DOD also changes but I only noticed this when running CEF's software. I'm hesitant to fiddle with the setup based on feedback for other inverter upgrades on the forum, PV master works it works but its not reliable I would like to know if any has had experience with PV master and interactions with the Inverter or is my experience an isolated case? If the firmware upgrade really necessary?
October 18, 20223 yr Hi @BGb The firmware 242416 was installed remotely by the Goodwe Technical Service. The only thing I noticed was that the WIFI module that was disconnected from time to time, never disconnected again since then. I also have pylontech 4 US3000C batteries and everything started to work fine when I made the specific cable for the correct operation of the Pylon BMS with the Goodwe. There are times that I have made changes with the PV Master that have not impacted the power inverter. Previous versions had sometimes strange behavior. I solved it, confirming all the configuration completely (item by item), accepting the changes and then closing the app. You shouldn't have a problem with that.

Thanks CEF I've had the firmware update done remotely and it looks like changes made via PV master are actually being implemented. I find your utility very handy to check DOD on and off grid. It would have been nice if it was easier to increase DOD overnight if the weather forecast for the following day was sunny.

Yes @BGb, I actually already solved it in other software above (Phoram), where user can create a custom event based on weather cloudiness, albeit about another inverter, not Goodwe. I have 2 drawbacks 1) I still can't find an API for Weather that is "free" and without registration and 2) I have to encourage myself to "write" in my inverter (for the DOD change)🙄😯😟, but I must lose that fear soon since I need to change the value of the energy exported at night, automatically, in a short time...
