Goodwe ES Series Inverter. Software System for Real Time Monitoring in LAN.
Hi! What stopped working about 5 or 6 days ago were the updates to the Weather Widget. The people at open-meteo.com apparently made some changes regarding the HTTP headers and the way the query is sent. I'm testing solutions. The software itself works continuously. I recommend that you temporarily uncheck the box in the "settings" tab to disable the weather widget. It's also possible that a bug appeared due to the New Year, although in that case it should have stopped at 00:00 or when the total reaches 01:00 on January 1, 2026. The quickest way to test this is to go to the \Data folder, find the "history.dbf" file, and replace it with the empty file you should have in the "installer." I recommend copying this file to a safe location before deleting it, as all your production statistics are stored there. I upgraded my inverter to a Goodwe GW6000 ES2; the communication protocol is MODBUS, so I am currently developing the new version for this one and can no longer test the previous one. Regards !

Goodwe ES Series Inverter. Software System for Real Time Monitoring in LAN.
@BGb Well, the truth is, I haven't received much more motivation from forum users to continue uploading subsequent versions, and I'm struggling to prepare a new one so it looks good in the forum's download area. I'm sending you a Google Drive link where you can download a fully functional version, although not the one I'm developing. It may have a bug that I'd appreciate if you could report to me. In the "Events" tab, you'll find a bug in a feature I'm implementing, but that doesn't work well yet, related to unexpected photovoltaic power outages. The idea is for the system to alert you with an audible alarm. I had an arc flash in my installation due to a dubious MC4 connector I'd had since 2017. A fire started in the connector while the arc flashed until the power to the entire string was cut off. The idea behind this feature I'm working on is to at least warn you and give you the opportunity to react in time if a fire breaks out on your roof. This guarantee of at least one loud audible warning can only be achieved through a real-time SCADA system. Follow the installation instructions in the .txt file once you unzip the ZIP file. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EwOGCG4DpBgTaV7C9FaVcv6J-euCZsOv/view?usp=drive_link Here is a YouTube video (with many editing limitations) of a previous version (4.25): https://youtu.be/G22gsCb9wHo

Goodwe ES Series Inverter. Software System for Real Time Monitoring in LAN.
Hi @BGb ! I don't quite understand what you need. The file you're referring to is designed so that installers/advanced users can observe, with an accuracy of seconds or less, all the parameters evaluated by the software based on inverter information from the last few days. However, all this information is already filtered by type. In the CE tab, you can see comparisons of the current/previous hour, the current/previous day, the current/previous month, and the current/previous year. Meanwhile, in the GR tab, in all types of graphs, you have the values broken down by type, totaled hour by hour for a day, day by day for a month, and month by month for a year. Of course, you must leave the system running permanently, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It's a SCADA-type system with constant monitoring. If you only have it connected for an hour, you'll only have the totalized minute-by-minute information for that hour. If you have it running for a day, you will have detailed and filtered (discriminated) information available for 24 hours.

Goodwe ES Series Inverter. Software System for Real Time Monitoring in LAN.
Hi BGb, I recommend you update the ARM firmware first (new=21). The latest version for this device is 1262521. It's also possible that your new router has some kind of delay or excessive delay for the UDP protocol. If you have an installer password provided by Goodwe for your SEMS PORTAL account, you can initiate a firmware update task for your device yourself from the Goodwe IoT platform, without needing to request it via a support ticket: https://eu.iot.goodwe-power.com/#/login

Solar fires-DC arc faults on solar systems
Hi @TaliaB ! Any external AFCI devices you can recommend? Thanks

AFCI Device. Experiences and recommendations please
Hi ! Hello. I am concerned because I had an Electric Arc in an MC4 connector that I installed 7 years ago in my photovoltaic installation. In the positive of a Panel of a string in series and an external fuse box. Surely the connector, among several that I bought, must have been of dubious quality, perhaps water entered and corrosion was generated... added to the very high ambient temperature and direct sunlight. The connector was carbonized and, thank God, only both connectors and part of the cable caught fire. Being aerial, the rapid fire did not touch more combustible materials and only left the panel blackened. Although for some years there have been international standards that are beginning to be mandatory, such as the UL 1699B Standard, the IEC 63027 Standard; these devices are not yet widespread. I am looking for places where I can buy an intelligent electric arc device that is also a disconnector of the String as a whole, of the AFCI BREAKER type. ??? Can anyone suggest one and where to buy it? CEF

Goodwe ES 5048 Not charging batries
Hi @Tokolosh . With my software you will only confirm in real time, with data updated every second and in graphic form, the almost certain fact that both of your battery charge/discharge circuits have burned out. Each one handles about 50 amps. I also have the yellow model. Within the warranty period, one of the circuits burned out, so both in charge and discharge, the total power received or delivered by the batteries was limited to the product of an amperage less than 50 x the voltage. If both circuits burn out, your batteries become non-existent for the inverter even though it seems that there are batteries connected. This failure unfortunately does not cause any type of alarm or error that is recorded. In my case, the inverter was replaced directly from China. I must tell you that this happened to me when I was using lead acid batteries without a BMS. With the current 4 pylontech batteries, the new inverter (also yellow) works wonders. I will send you a password privately so that you can use the software.

Goodwe ES 4.6kW WiFi reset
I agree. I installed firmware 252517 about a year ago and I can tell you that, indeed, the only way to make the Goodwe WIFI work when it freezes is by doing the RESET and START-UP procedure indicated in the User Manual identical to the one in the post it mentions . The hidden button by removing the screws and the procedure for both the Soft reset of the WIFI device and disconnecting the antenna stopped working for me, I believe in the ARM update No.: 15, if I remember correctly. I understand that in September or October 2023 new updates appeared for both the DSP Firmware and the ARM Firmware (which would be of interest in this topic). It would be interesting to know if anyone was able to update to the latest Goodwe Firmware if this BUG was corrected.

Goodwe, Eco mode & no/low grid.
In the VAC Failure condition (Pv Master registers this error with the code: 131072) there is nothing that surprises me. In my location the energy is very stable and is within the voltage and frequency ranges of the country code. Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce both a FAC and a VAC condition to draw definitive conclusions. However, from a message from @paul99I was able to observe how in VAC condition, the information that the Goodwe provides in one of its sensors (the one for Non-ESSENTIAL loads) is wrong. Without a doubt that is a bug in the Goodwe firmware. The information shown by PV master is not divided into essential and non-essential loads. It is possible that in this condition of VAC Failure, and very possibly FAC Failure (Code: 536870912) the PV energy is =0. Hopefully Paul can tell us more about this.

Goodwe, Eco mode & no/low grid.
Hi @Bobster. I use Economy Mode and what you say is very strange. Although I hope I haven't misunderstood you. Since I export power to the grid, to prevent my batteries from eventually discharging to the grid, I never have a discharge period with economy mode during high solar production hours of the day. But since I discovered what I believe to be a bug in the ES 5048 firmware when a VAC failure condition exists, I tested its conclusions as it is important information that I could incorporate into my software development. I set the economy mode with a DISCHARGE period in the presence of a large amount of PV (around noon) and proceeded to cut the Grid. There was no change. The inverter automatically supplies from PV all the power needed for essential loads.

Goodwe ES Series Inverter. Software System for Real Time Monitoring in LAN.
Hi @RavRabbit 1) Error 15, as you will have seen in its description, is recorded when what happened to you happens to you, this is "a trip". Goodwe's software (PV Master) does not record them. This is the information it records (event log): Error_Info="Warning!: Loss of BackUp loads" Error_desc="Device trip, otherwise check the connections downstream of the B.Up output" This error can also appear in the event that the Backup Output of the inverter does not detect any load (for example due to a short circuit downstream of your current inverter). The values you see, which don't seem to make sense, are due to the failure audit event saving the electrical parameters an instant before "tripping". Unfortunately, since Goodwe's motherboard circuit boards do not have any type of battery, the inverter loses all communication instantly when a trip occurs. 2) With reference to the failure of your Goodwe, it may be possible that you have one of the 2 charge/discharge circuits burned. Each circuit handles a maximum of just under 50 amps. Verifying this is simple. With a good solar production and being connected to the Grid, you will be able to see when your batteries are charging, how much is the maximum daily charging amperage. If this value is greater than 50 amps, you probably don't have this problem. If the battery charge does not exceed 50 amps, it is almost certain that you have one of the circuits burned. You can see the maximum daily value of charge amperage in this sector of the main screen of my system (orange background and white letters).

Tank you very much for your ofreciment. The project continues with progress, although in recent times a little slower since I have been with a lot of work Sorry for the delay in responding, which is for the same reason. I would be very interested in your progress in writing commands with the aa55 protocol, although remember that the ES Series is not MOD BUS. It's just aa55 over UDP. If you could share the information you have with reference to: 1) Command aa55 to configure Economic Mode and mode of passing the values of days and hours of charge, discharge and their nominal % 2) Command aa55 to perform a soft reset of the inverter, after programming the Economic Mode and/or changing to any other operating mode, so that the configured values are effective. 3) Command aa55 Allow/Disallow export to grid and set max value. I would be interested in this, because in version 4.20 that I will soon publish I implemented a Weather Widget extracting data of interest from Solar Systems specifically, such as the time of solar Noon and the % cloudiness and it would be interesting to make automated processes in such a way that the inverter changes its mode of work according to weather conditions. If you want, you can send me your interesting research privately. Best regards !

Goodwe ES Series Inverter. Software System for Real Time Monitoring in LAN.
As far as I know, at this time Goodwe does not request this information to the BMS for compatible batteries. Ideally, it would be possible to have a separate app for each battery model. If monitoring 24 hours with the software of this thread, it would be interesting to consider a simple counter, in an future review, for example in case a charge cycle is considered if the SOC dropped below 70% on immediate discharge previous. The other inconvenience that could be solved in an approximate way, is that based on the State of Health of the Battery (SOH), each user could calculate the cycles already accumulated according to their brand and model, which would be taken as the initial value of the counter register. Thanks, It's a good idea, it would be very simple to implement.

Yeah. Unfortunately, the Goodwe whose series begin with 3... would not, in principle, be compatible with the pylons through BMS. Self-definition is always an alternative, but for the price of these batteries, from my point of view it is a risk. If it were my case, I would try to evaluate the costs of the EzConverter as @P1000 suggested. Look at this post: https://powerforum.co.za/topic/9775-old-goodwe-comms-with-pylon-battery/

Mr
Hi @Archie1 I have the same inverter. At least the color is the same. If the serial starts with 95048ESU... I can assure you that the Pylontech US3000C batteries work perfectly. I have 4 connected. The only drawback is that you have to make a very simple CAN specific cable with RJ45 connectors on both sides. The cable from the Pylontech connection kit does not work well with the Goodwe, it gives errors of disconnection - BMS connection. The diagram was officially published by Goodwe for these batteries. I think it appears in a forum post, but if you can't find it, I'll look for it and post it. On the other hand I tell you that the latest Goodwe Firmware is 1 2525/17 This is FW Version 1 2525 and ARM 17. Regards
