Thanks p_i, closer inspection of the site raises too many questions for it to make sense to risk it, thanks for sharing the link!

Read the Terms & Conditions listed on their web site too. It's dummy text. I don't think it's even paid SOE, but merely fabricated by themselves.

They name several individuals with professionally taken pics. But none of these persons show up on LinkedIn or Facebook. They also quote their products VAT free. Language on their www is clumsy. At first I thought it’s “lost in translation” until I could not find their management members on any social media. I’ll place an order and ask to pay cash on delivery. Let’s see how that goes..

I wouldn't even do that, since you might get a box of bricks delivered.

So they responded cash upfront only. I offered to collect and now they’re silent.

Even a warehouse operation like Inverter-Warehouse allows me to go there, get what I want (if they have it) and pay right there.
Too many out there that brag about their warehouses in different locations with no provisioning to get the product and pay them. 🤨

Whilst on the subject of dubious (questionable) traders, has anyone actually bought from one of these two outlets?

I note on their www that their address for non sales warehouse is in Centurion and their office is in Durban. I still want to go to either and buy my Freedom Won battery, the price is right 😇

My approach is that I collect personally. Unless of course, it is a company I know well or a well established business.

Would be of benefit if there was an Escrow Agent in SA that could protect both parties, especially in the "online" business environment where the sellers don't hold stock at their premises.

I doubt whether the scammers would make use of any Escrow agent. And whilst gullible people exist, the scammers will continue with their "business model", sadly.

It will never stop the scammers but it will give credibility to the new guy on the block that wants to conduct honest business and doesn't want to branded as a potential scammer.

So - have they been confirmed as scammers?

Curious to know as their prices are indeed good and of course way too good. All the red flags are there but wouldn't it be nice if they were verifiably legit :)

He/ she is a scammer….or rather scum! Also ordered, sent e-mails with a reply from Jamie van Wyk….So sorry for the mother that raised such a person. However, with assist from the right people in access/ resources, they will have to tred n their steps!!

Sorry to hear you got taken. I also ordered online, but did not pay right away. I received an email confirming my order, pending payment. I suggested that I pay COD, or issue a bank guarantee or collect personally and then pay cash. The responses were pretty amateur and I suspected a scam so I walked away. Send your collectors in to fetch your money. They must be traceable as they have transaction engines with the banks.

Thanks to this post on the Forum I avoided buying from JP Solar Suppliers.

This is why I also want to reciprocate by advising that it seems the same people also seem to be operating under a different name(s) namely:

  1. Origin Solar at the web site address solar-origin.co.za the website domain was registered on the 10 Nov 2022 by a german registrar. the same Domain Web Registrar as jpsolarsuppliers.co.za

To my utter disbelief I found the same look and feel web site, the same truly incredible pricing on all their products, the same bad English and spelling errors.

Even though the two company registration numbers and physical addresses are different - They mysteriously have the same customer testimonials.

WOW !! what are the odds !!

  1. It now gets even more interesting - Check out the web site industriasolar.co.za registered but the same German Registrar.

I suspect that these are all the same guys -

To all newbies and existing Solar enthusiasts - Be aware and tread carefully and thanks again for the great font of info.

Thanks for the additional info.
Seeing that you have some access of sorts, would you mind checking out https://momentumsolar.co.za/  as they may just be part of the same people/scam.

That's a copy of jpsolar; simply compare the faces on the about us page.

Hi Everyone, best is to report all thier various Google ads. Click on the three dots next to the ad then report as scam. The more reports the better the chance Google will react. Those who lost money should approached Carte Blanche, juicy one for them.
