Posted December 21, 20222 yr Good day, what would be the best 5kwh battery to pair with RCT Axpert 5K ? Trying to use what I have available or should I ditch the RCT Axpert and start fresh?
December 21, 20222 yr I have a similar question, was looking at Pylontech up5000 4.8kWh Li-Ion solar battery 48V, but not sure if the Axpert will charge it correctly?
December 22, 20222 yr Most Axperts will charge lithium batteries just fine with the correct "Use" mode settings, I wouldn't ditch it. You just need to be aware of the premature float bug to make sure your batteries are charging properly (only affects solar charging apparently). Some newer models like the King (OGPlus) have a BMS port which will communicate directly with a pylontech battery with the "PYL" setting. There are other lithium settings, but no documentation on their specifics, so not sure which other batteries work directly. The pylontechs will certainly be the easiest to set up and run directly via the BMS port if you have it, but a lot of people just use Solar Assistant between the inverter and battery. I just run my battery on voltage settings and it charges perfectly.
December 24, 20222 yr Author Is there anyone reliable on this group that is a Pylontech agent and can help me with 2 installations in Struisbaai / Cape Agulhas?
