Evening everyone

I am trying to find a cheap bulk electricity supply in Gauteng or other provinces in South Africa.

I am looking for 50kW or 100kW depending on price.

Does anyone know of any industrial areas or independent power producers that could supply this? I have been looking for several weeks and no luck so far.

You could come to me . Bring your own dop and chop (and lots of solar panels - and a couple of extra for me). . On a more serious note you are going to struggle to find a IPP who is able to sell to a 3rd party. COCT is taking Dept of Energy/Nersa to court to allow it to buy energy directly from IPPs.  Perhaps wait for the outcome of this legal wrangle.

I have 5500ha of inaccessible mountain (prime real estate in zombie apocalypse scenarios). I know there was a IPP near Harrismith  who wanted to sell electricity generated from the outflow of the Lesotho Highlands water to Harrismith municipality. You could buy the IPP and then supply yourself nothing illegal there. 

That's a huge property. ☺

I am afraid not. Harrismith is not the biggest place. I have a cousin who farms there I can make inquires if you want.

Chris, ever though of selling / renting / sub divide / sectional title or whatever small pieces of land to city folks who want to setup a little place on a far far from everything to have a place to take a break or run to in case of a Zombie Apocalypse?

At one time when the cash was good I was seriously looking at farms, or portions of farms, with mountains on that has water.

Jip I have. Not something I have advertised. It would need to be mutually beneficial. As soon as you advertise all the shysters come out the woodwork.
