Mecer 2400va inverter question

Featured Replies

A mate gave me his Mecer inverter that's not powering up. He mentioned that he accidentally arced the battery cables on the inverter back panel. I opened the inverter to check for blown fuses but could not find or see anything that's gone but I'm not clued up with these things. Can anyone tell me if its worth or possible to get it fixed?

It's certainly worthwhile to fix it if you have the skills, but unfortunately it takes a lot more skill than "open it up and see if a fuse is blown". If you want to have a go, or just read what others are doing, see the Pip inverter repairs and hardware modifications post over on the Australian Electric Vehicle Association forum.

Post us the exact model number as well as an image of the device.

I have repaired the 720W version of what I believe your model is, fairly recently. Its a Voltronics brand, and its  its subsystems and conponents are readonably straight forward. If the charger transformer and HF transformer are not damaged snd the PCB not damaged, yes, there is chance. The mosfets are inexpensive.
