January 29, 20233 yr Hi All My neighbour has a Deye inverter and came to me for help as his installer is just shrugging his shoulders. I self installed a Goodwe, so familiar with concepts, but unfamiliar with Deye. He just installed solar panels - 3kW. Problem: It appears that his panels are only supplying his backup load - even when Eskom is on. He has hardly hit more than 500w from his panels, whilst I have output of above 2kW. We plugged in a kettle in a backup plug, then the Panels go up 2kW, but when I plug it into a non-backup plug, the panels do nothing. CT clamp is installed, but unlike my Goodwe I can’t find a meter test anywhere to check if it works. Any help with the settings will be greatly appreciated.
January 30, 20233 yr I would say you have to tick time of use at the top. Also play around with the battery percentage to get the most out of your batteries. Edited January 30, 20233 yr by JacoG

It just appears that the inverter is behaving like an off grid inverter, with the solar only supplying the backup load.
January 31, 20233 yr Try to set your max sell power to 3000W. No idea if it will help, but the Deye often doesn't distinguish easily between exported/sold power, and power supplied to the home's non-essential loads. Other than that, send a few more images of the settings screens. Like the "Grid" icon on the main page, leading to the grid readings including CT. Is the CT coil correctly positioned as the first device after the main switch?
January 31, 20233 yr Just a wild guess: Is your CT coil maybe installed backwards ? Maybe you can get ideas from watching this: Edited January 31, 20233 yr by sjp
February 1, 20233 yr Yes try what greenfields said. Here is my settings: Edit: I must just mention my whole house is on essential so not sure if these will help with the non-essential side. Edited February 1, 20233 yr by JacoG
February 1, 20233 yr I have a question , not sure where to post it, so I am asking here. May be that my CT is installed incorrectly? When I grid charge my load goes into negative. My load/grid values don't match to my prepaid meter. If my real load (as per my prepaid meter) is 1000w, my inverter shows Load 500w and grid use 500w (when no solar is available.) Switching to battery power (grid power off) the load shows correctly 1000w - battery use 1000w? Any ideas?
