February 15, 20233 yr Hi all. I jave connected up a new solar system I have solar panels 4 x 450 watts each an Axpert 5000w inverter connected to 3 x US 2000 lithium batteries. Everything is connect correctly checked and double checked But the batteries are not charging . The monitor shows the panels connect but nothing else As you can see but the photo I am not getting the sign DC to AC . Could it be that I do not have enough power from the solar panels and need to buy at least 2 more .

Have you tried charging from the grid? 4 panels should get you to the minimum 120V needed for PV charging. I doubt that more panels is the answer. Have you tried setting charging to be PV and grid or is it set to only use PV? Edited February 15, 20233 yr by Scorp007
February 16, 20233 yr What is your VOC and what is your panel string voltage when connected to the inverter? What model axpert inverter are you using? What are your inverter settings? Have you tried a cold restart? Your existing panels should be sufficient to see some charging unless there is a problem with string or mppt.
February 16, 20233 yr Please post a picture of the sticker on the side of inverter and also the panel spec.
February 16, 20233 yr list the inverter settings on your unit. most likely one or two settings are incorrect.
February 16, 20233 yr Author Setting 01 is SBU SETTING 05 TO PL the inverter is a inverter Axpert king 5kw The solar panels are A- 450M GS These are rhe setting I have changed nothing else I can not upload the pictures sorry
February 16, 20233 yr If it is n King the max mppt voltage is 150VDC. With 4 panels in series you are about his value.
February 16, 20233 yr Author Setting are 01 SBU 02 70A 05 PLY 06 LTD 07 TRD 09 50A 10 AUT 11 UTI 30 12 46V 13 54V 16 SBL UC 19 ESP 20 LON 22 AON 23 BYD 25 FDS I AM GETTING 169VOLTS AT THE MOMENT going in the inverter It shows 169volts but no amps what so ever and not charging
February 16, 20233 yr Author When I turn of the solar panels and leave the inverter on the volts start dropping from 169 volts when I goes down to around 100volts the system starts charging . When the volts goes lower when the inverter cuts off again. It must be a settling that is wrong

You need to change the layout of the panels. 150VDC max I really do hope you did not damage your mppt. Edited February 16, 20233 yr by Jacques Ester

February 16, 20233 yr Currently you have all the panels in series. You will need to change that to something like 2 in series and the other 2 in series. Then you need to parallel the 2 strings. Please note that I did not add any fuses and RCD to the sketch. Edited February 16, 20233 yr by Jacques Ester

February 16, 20233 yr Author Can I connect up only 2 of the solar panels at the moment so that I have the system running and charging ?
February 16, 20233 yr This is how it should be wired but add 15amp fuses to each + and - line before it Ys in to the inverter.

February 16, 20233 yr Author My system is now working Thank you so much every one you have all been so very very help . An amazing forum thank you again
February 23, 20233 yr Author I have connected up the solar panel as shown in the picture. The system started to work and them started charging Would it be a connect problem with the solar panel ?
