February 17, 20233 yr So an interesting case study here. So 3 phase Eskom Supply. Customer opted for a Sunsynk at first but expressed concern on the High pitched frequency sound that it might emit. So we had a long back & fourth & got to the good conclusion of the Kodak OG10. So context here: 3 phase but will install a Single phase inverter. So some phase work to get all the essentials onto a single phase. Then leave some Non-essentials on the Grid side splits amongst the 3 phases. A combination of a flat concrete roof & some corrugated sheet. So we embarked on the journey of the Kodak OG10, FreedomWon 10/8 & 10 x LONGi 480w Monos. Unfortunately with supply chain the way it is, this project will be spaced out & done in a few stages. Mounts only available on the Corrugated roof. Ballast weight block system will follow but is not in stock at the moment. Will be heading to Durbs next week & this Install will continue once we get back & stock is no longer an issue. Bear with me because I will show steps & bits & pieces. The Main DB is in the main house & the garage is the chosen place of installation. That distance is a rolling 25m by distance. 10mm2 AC cable used that matches the +-50A AC in & out. A lot more to follow in the coming weeks. I will also share some installation projects in Durbs as I know that these projects fit many forum members requirements.
February 17, 20233 yr Author There were some non compliance issues we had to sort out & from an installers perspective this is always contentious because once we agree to install we inherit a lot of the existing issues.
February 17, 20233 yr Author The Longis waiting for ballast blocks. Must admit this is probably the most beautiful panel I have ever installed. Can't explain it but the entire panel is transparent besides for salar modules sandwiched.
February 17, 20233 yr Author The main issue we face as installers is that mostly older homes the wiring is old & to they use Heinemann switch gear & they are no longer sold so you faced with either Samite or Din & then you have to go with what is already there. However, note these are not final pics. The final pics will promise a lot more. I have found that just taking final pics doesn't really help anyone learn anything. I can share final shots & nothing would be gained. However, delivering the process breaks down the learning curve.

March 13, 20233 yr Author The solution is already precut for various angles. This one preset to 28° which our latitude in SA. Each ballast block also very sturdy & weighs 25kg each & rests on soft Polyethylene Mats. So that if work is required on the roof then this entire system can be undone & packed away & then rebuild.
