Went to the Sunsynk presentation yesterday by Keith from Sunsynk, one thing I found very interesting thing that he mentioned, more than once, was an issue with having too low a voltage on a string with high amperage panels. 

As an example, a Sunsynk 8kw with 5 x Canadian solar 605W panels.

The string would have a voltage of max 207V

Having too low a voltage on the string can result in damage to the MPPT controllers under specific conditions (not 100% sure what they are) and is something to be avoided according to @Keith Gough

It could be because the current has to increase to meet power demand?

Higher current means that everything runs a little hotter. 

But the 8kW is specced at 28A or something per MPPT, so you should be well within your limits still?

Maybe there is some firmware issue, and if your VMPP is below the inverter's minimum operating voltage things start freaking out and damage occurs.
