April 25, 20233 yr I cannot find the answer to this question, so will appreciate if an answer can be provided. Does the inverter/charger adapt the battery charging profile and parameters according to the battery type selected? Example on my 3kw 24V Fiverstar there are 6 different battery types that can be selected. Will the inverter adapt the charging profile by itself say between GEL and LiFePO4 or must the user make the changes?
April 25, 20233 yr Generally the user will select the type of battery. if there are battery comms (CAN or RS485) then the BLS will manage how to charge / discharge

For example, AGM versus flooded: the AGMs are charged to a lower voltage to prevent losing water through gassing. The profile per se is the same: a simple bulk / absorb / float three-stage charge. As mentioned above, if a BMS is connected either directly to the inverter or via monitoring software, the BMS will essentially control the charge.
