Solar design website

Hi

Not sure if anybody has used this but I thought it was very good https://app.opensolar.com/ you use Google Earth to find your site then you are able to put specific panels on your roof and setup strings and then add inverters and batteries and it will give you an estimate of what production you should get. In the image this is my house and I have placed solar panels on the roof and added a SunSynk inverter. I would be interested in how accurate this is (I know a lot of factors come into play), but would be nice if it was "close" to a real world install as then I can at least get an idea. You can select different size panels and inverters and string your panels together.

Please someone with solar give it a go and give us some feedback.

I use this for many of my quotations.
Once set up all your pricing, extras, tariffs etc it works really great :)

How accurate is this with regards to the amount of solar power yield.

I actually tried that out and used my home.
Used the tool to setup exactly my home installation and the tools algorithm comes pretty close to my recorded data
Those projection tools are usually only considered a general guideline, but for general home solar quotes it does a pretty good job.

This is what the system generated and for sure the electricity savings part it works out pretty close to reality, in my case anyway :)
The production calculations also not too far off.

And on the third photo the exact layouts can be done almost exactly to reality, height off ground, angles azimuth's etc.

I have tried quite a few modeling systems, this one is my goto app, and it's free :)

Takes a bit of time to get all your configs loaded correctly, and then from there it is super easy to use.
