Advice on a Sunsynk 5kw system

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. I couldn't find anything here on the Sunsynk 5kW bundle so I thought I'd ask

Edit: it's a SCAM. Are there any alternatives I should have a look at?

I found a kit with the

SUNSYNK 5kW Hybrid Parity Inverter (1 Phase) – SUNSYNK-5K-SG02LP1,

5kW 100Ah LiFePo4 Lithium Ion Battery – SUN-BATT-5.32

And 6 x Seraphim 460W 144 Cell SIII Series Solar Panel – SRP-460-BMA-HV

I'm under the impression that Sunsynk is a good brand. It's all bundled for R50k with installation.

Does anyone have any experience with these components?

Would it be worth it for a first time Solar System setup?

Is there anything I should add on to this?

Lots of happy users with very similar setups around here (myself included); but beware of that pricing: the hardware alone is worth significantly more than the cost you've been quoted; so assuming it's not second-hand, make sure you're not getting scammed!

Seems very cheap for the kit + install, roof rails, CoC etc. Is this a reputable supplier?

It's from retailenergy https://www.retailenergy.co.za/products/sunsynk-solar-kit?_pos=7&_sid=404481911&_ss=r

Any experience with them? They're offering installation and certification. I can only assume some of the cables and misc items might not be included, which shouldn't be a major add on

Best to avoid, I'm afraid. See linked thread; other forums have reported the same.

Ok upon further inspection this company seems like a scam, they only accept EFT online, and their WhatsApp contact doesn't respond

Thanks! Will definitely avoid. So what's a good ballpark for a 5kW system like this?

I think you need to shop and get a feel of the price. I had mined for installed for 130k , that is 5kw sunsynk inverter and 5kw sunsynk battery with 6x460W JA Panels. The lowest quote was 110k. My most expensive was 172k. Your quoted price is dodgy.
