Geyserwise WiFi upgrade: Geyserwise update kit or Thingwala?

Featured Replies

I have a Geyserwise MAX system and I want to upgrade it for WiFi connection and control via Home Assistant. Geyserwise has an upgrade and there is another product - Thingwala - that apparently does the same thing. (see links below)
Does anyone have any experience with either or both of these update kits? My instinct is to go with the Geyserwise kit but I'd like some hands-on experience. Also, does anyone have any information about integrating with HA for automation. They cost around the same.
Thanks, Ken

I went the Thingwala route since they were willing to work with me to ensure compatibility with my older TSE model.

Home Assistant integration was pretty straightforward and On/Off element functionality and water temperature is now available to me in Apple HomeKit via the Homekit Bridge, and additionally other entities that can also be exposed and used if required in HA and/or Node Red.

Thank you, I just got one!

Ken any update on Thingwala /Geyserwala? I went for the Geyserwise WiFi with tuya. The thing works for most times but randomly loses WiFi. When that happen

s there is no easy way to reset or make it reconnect to wifi than to open the display panel and unplug the cable form the geyser... a very frustrating experience. in 3 months i have had to do this 4 times.. No real help from the Geyserwise people...

Hi, I got the Thingwala modification and it works 100%. No problem adding to my wifi, and it integrates fine with Home Assistant. The app works great and I'm 100% satisfied. The only downside is that the actual geyser panel is reduced  in size and functionality but that becomes irrelevant because the app has much more functionality.

The Thingwala is much much better than the Geyserwise. I had both....the Thingwala never drops WiFi connection but the Geyserwise has to be reset constantly causing a lot of irritation
