September 29, 20232 yr @TaliaB Thanks for the reply, so you use 40A for inverter supply and output with 10mm supply and output from the inverter to the essentials DB. Yes remember when inverter is in bypass( Eskom power) and your load increases on the essential side and charging of battery you can get close to 40 amps the current draw on input is the same as the output in bypass. I try and cover all options especially on cloudy days when your pv input is low. 10mm² is just the safe option.
June 4, 20242 yr For finding pre-assembled AC protection boxes, I did a ton of online browsing to get some inspiration and ideas. Electrical supply websites and online marketplaces were my go-to spots, and boy, did I stumble upon some gems.About the breaker sizes, I went with 32A for both the supply and output breakers, and it's been working like a charm. But hey, I get where you're coming from with considering 35A as well. It's about finding what fits best for your specific setup. Also, when I was setting up my own AC protection for a similar system, I found that using MCBs. It just gave me that extra peace of mind knowing I had quality components safeguarding my setup. Edited June 4, 20242 yr by Reflectorsch
