October 9, 20232 yr Author Just a quick update for everyone. I rewired the panels into a straight series of 9 and bingo..! I now have just over 360v at the inverter and it's now decided to play, so all is well. There are 4 batteries in total, but they have been disconnected for nearly a year. I have only connected one to charge, then I will charge each of the others independently so they are all at the same level of charge before I connect them up as a bank of 4. I will let you know how it goes. Huge thanks for the expert and accurate advice.

November 7, 20232 yr Author A slight shift in topic, but hopefully there is some knowledge to be had. The set up I previously outlined earlier in the post has been working well for the last month or so. However a couple of days ago, the third battery in the pile has started to display the error light. when everything is switched off, then restarted, it seems to go through the start up sequence ok, but then the red fault light comes on solid. Are there any diagnostics that can be performed on this, or is this a case of returning under warranty?

I don't have any personal experience with pylontechs, but you should probably make a serial cable for the console port and connect to batteryview on a pc to be able to read out the BMS data... there is a massive amount of pylontech info in this excellent topic:
