November 13, 20232 yr Hello Guys. I have a 16KW Deye single phase inverter with 5 Shoto batteries and 18 540w panels. Everything is running as essentials including geysers and stove. Yesterday night, I drew a high load (9 KW) from the batteries and the inverter tripped. When I opened up the inverter I saw that one of the 200A breakers inside between the batteries and inverter had tripped. This doesnt happen when there is input from the panels as the battery doesnt carry the whole load. Does this mean I can only draw 9.6KW (200A x 48v) from the batteries on the 16KW inverter before it trips? Why then is there a max discharge setting that can be higher than 200? Mine is set at 250A. If I set the max discharge setting to lower eg 180A , wil the inverter trip quicker or will it use the grid to supplement? Regards. Michael
November 13, 20232 yr There's two inputs, maybe the breaker is 200a max each? Try connecting with two sets of cables
November 13, 20232 yr 100% agree with @abd7the ports are split into 2. 200A on each gateway...So at 200A at 48V/51.2V is 10kW per channel. Use both channels to unlock the power requirement...
November 13, 20232 yr Author How would one go about doing this? Im not planning to do it myself , Im just curious. What would such a setup look like?
November 13, 20232 yr Insolated busbar would be my first choice(This will have to be done correctly) Don't want something to short out here😅. You can also double up on the supply cables from Main battery fuse.(This should be an easy job)
January 25, 20251 yr Hi. Quick question. It’s related to the same question @MotVisagie asked. so we have a 16kW Deye inverter as well and we are experiencing the same issue where the right hand side of that switch trips. So we have x15 Lithium batteries, separated within 3 banks and each bank goes to a fuse holder with the amperage of 160A and from the 3 fuse holders , it goes to a common busbar where we use a 75mm double insulating welding cable that goes to the inverter. Does that mean that we need to put another set of 75mm cable or what could be the problem and what is the solution ?
