rafcom
Hi All Is there something like a plug-in tester to test a whole bunch of 1KVA UPSs, instead of "cracking" each one open and doing a load test on the battery? Thanks, R

rafcom
So theoretically yes but technically no. Does that device perform any sort of test? So considering two wrongs don't make a right or two left turns makes a U-turn or whatever, could one theoretically test the battery capacity via the UPS output? Like would there be a discernible drop/pattern on the AC side vs the DC side voltage drop? Etc etc.

I would try about a 150-250W load and use a halogen filament spot light. You can even just buy 2x150W bulbs and make a bracket for connections. https://www.glolighting.co.za/k-light-d-01983-240v-150w-118mm-qi-halogen-bulb.html?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwtNi0BhA1EiwAWZaANBjsirBJ8ex9SRMtcsg4iteU8zWhT2NL_4uRwjG4oEEuKuBbSEaiFhoCgUcQAvD_BwE Edited July 16 by Scorp007

There would be no relationship between AC and DC. So no to measure ac voltage could not determine the SOH of the batteriey(s), otherwise you need to open the ups's and check the battery voltage while under load. If the dc drops below a certain level the ups will switch off. Derek3
rafcom
Thanks TaliaB, cracking them open seems to be the only way then
