How to utilize 96v battery bank on a 48v inverter

Featured Replies

Hi there,
I bought a 20KWH system for my house from a solar company in china. At the time I didn't know anything about volts or anything. I ended up getting a 96v pure sine inverter, with 96v batteries.
Long story short, i'm not using that system anymore and have 2 X 12kVA Deye's with 36KWH.
My solar panels charge my 48V batteries by 1-2PM and i'm not capturing the rest of the day.
I still own a 96v 20KWH battery (got rid of the 96v inverter), that I'd like to some how integrate with my home system, and be able to utilize the sun for the rest of the day. Any thoughts how I can add these 96v batteries to the system?
I have an idea, however I'm looking for feedback and maybe more ideas how to go about it.
Get a new high voltage inverter, and connect to the current system that it gets power from the DB board from 1-5PM, and connect the output of the new inverter to the generator slot in the Deye system I currently use. So If I have my batteries set to drain to 20% every night, instead of my deye's pulling from the grid, it pulls from the 96v inverter acting as the generator, till the sun comes back up.

This can be an interesting topic. I just wonder if the gen  input would accept such a low voltage as there are parameters to be set in which the genny must comply.

If that 96V battery pack was not so big I might have been interested to buy it if you wanted to sell.

PM me if we need to have a chat.

I'm pretty sure that if the battery is no longer under warranty, it can be open, changed the cells configuration and set it to a 48 V.

Ditto, just remove BMS and add a 15/16S BMS to the now reconfigured battery, I guess you'd have to get more details on what the cells' specs are, probably not 400Ah, I'm guessing, so size the BMS accordingly...
