October 31, 20241 yr Hi I want to heat a small pool / tub it holds about a 1500 liters of water and my question is whether I should use Evacuated Tube Collectors or Solar Pool Heating Panels and which one would be more efficient and get better water heating. Also what type and size of pump would I need to use. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a big or small budget?

What temperatures are you expecting to get to? We have evacuated tubes as part of a 100l HWC without pumps or other forms of heating and this time of year and throughout summer, the hot water side is way too hot, need an 'afdakkie' to keep the hot water side in check. This could be an issue on your end as well... I have never used pumps for hot water and the cold water is gravity fed, so can't help you there, going PV is the least efficient route and most likely the most costly by far, but it might be the easiest to keep withing the temperature range wanted, personally though, I support the evacuated tube route...
