max charge current settings for GROWATT SPF-5000-ES Inverter using Lithium-Ion Batteries

Featured Replies

I wonder if anyone can help me.  I have a GROWATT SPF-5000-ES Inverter with 6 x 650w panels and 4 x 100A LiFePO₄ batteries (48v). What will the recommended "max charging current" and "Max utility charging current" settings be for the installation.

What setting would I need to change to reduce the AC Utility charge rate to 3500 Watts for use with a Generator and how would I do this?

Thanks

There must be a setting for max utility charging current. In Voltronics it's setting 11. I set it to 0.1 C. But you can set it to the generator capability.

I set the total max charging current (02 in Voltronics) very high as I do not want to loose any PV input energy. There is no risk to overload as the PV panels cannot deliver more as their specs anyway.

The Growatt 5000ES has a total charge capability of 100A solar+utility. To determine the best charging setup the question would be out of your 400ah lfp battery bank how far(Soc) do you discharge your battery during non solar periods( at night). Depending on your answer the best charge current could be calculated. As best practice always endeavor to charge the battery at lowest charge rate possible 0.1c ~ 0.25c. What is your battery module spesification 0.5c, 1c.

Also what is your generator spesification in VA? Generators have a power factor of between 0.75~0.8va this needs to be taken into account when setting charge current as your generator will have to delivered charge + loads connected. Is it a petrol or diesel generator? The utility charge current is set in program 11.
