Freedom Won Orion Jr2 BMS password

Featured Replies

Busy repurposing an Orion JR2 BMS from a Freedom Won 10/8. I can read data from the BMS, but due to Freedom Won putting a lock on the BMS I can't modify any parameters and write to it.

Obviously if i was using the same config of 51.2v 200ah I'd probably just leave it as is, but planning on it being a 300ah pack so I'll need to at least be able to change that. I'm assuming the password could be related to the serial number of the BMS so might not be a generic one for all their batteries? Do you think their technical support would even give this to me or login remotely and remove that password option?

Battery is already void sticker is broken long ago.

But if they give one person that password it could spread very quickly. There should though be a way to reset the BMS as if it just came out of the factory.

One of the very reasons I don't just dish it out loosely. It's useful for a technician to troubleshoot & see some data that may be required for diagnostics. When you enter with that password, the Orion becomes completely configurable for a whole host of missions. You can configure the Canbus settings for whatever battery inverter you have & load & save profiles.

There is also a reset button on the Orion. Press it & just maybe you end up with a new out the box Orion. One of the reasons you can't just use the 10/8 with different cells is because it's factory delivered with a profile that tells it the capacity & make of he cells. The Current sensor is also calibrated for a particular mission. Messing with those types of settings is pretty special. Not saying you don't have the ability nor apprehension just rather better to reset the BMS than for us to expose some sensitive FW bit of information that may get someone in the wrong zone.
