December 24, 20241 yr I doubt that they would do it unless the technician who installed the bridging wire done so under duress or there was an incentive offered.

But there would be a reference number for it. Down south in Jozi my prepaid meter went pop when power was restored after an outage. City Power sent a guy out who told me 1) the meter was a goner 2) there was no stock So I asked where this left us. He said not to worry, he will not leave me without power. He then performed a "temporary restoration". IE he bridged the meter. A couple of days later another guy turned up to replace the meter. So I can see a situation in which the City could have bridged the meter. But you'd think whoever did it would have given a reference number or left contact details.

I think there was a request for a cool drink, if you catch my drift. This tenant has lied to me so many times I don't know when to trust her. What worries me is that piece of wire is probably rated for 40A. Surely it's safety hazard.
