March 24, 20197 yr Hey guys With the constant load shedding I'm starting to realize a BMS will be a must. My Axpert King is pretty good at keeping the battery at bulk but sometimes I wasn't even home to use any power so the batteries start making boiling noises (considering they are marketed as AGM I would say this is a bad thing). What are you guys using for a BMS? I think most people are resorting to that Victron BMS but that thing is super expensive last I checked.
March 24, 20197 yr Quick question about the Axpert King series - does this inverter use the batteries in a similar manner to the mks range (i.e. direct from solar/grid to load), or is it constantly cycling from grid/solar through the batteries and then supplying your load from the batteries? Details on the King series seem a bit scarce and I'm struggling to find any docs on how this inverter differs from the other models (i.e. use of the terminology "off-grid" vs. "Hybrid" Edited March 24, 20197 yr by Dude Crush

A BMS does more than just balance, it also monitors individually for a low/high cell, high charge and discharge currents, and usually has a large disconnect device for protection. Overkill on lead acid. The choice is usually between the HA02, or the Victron balancers (of which you will need more than one, and it will cost more).
