April 23, 20251 yr I read from a 2024 STEVE post of a Turbine connection to Sunsynk inverters via a Solis S6 2 KW grid tied inverter. Steve states a " WT with a constant voltage controller @ 350V AC coupled to a Solis S6 2 KW grid tied inverter. Can someone expalin this in a bit more detail please, as all controllers I've found rectify the WT 3 ph AC to a DC voltage ? Is the AC couple the Solis S6 to Sunsynk AUX and the WT connects DC to the Solis S6 ??? Edited April 23, 20251 yr by amctear
April 24, 20251 yr Hello We have various types of wind turbine controllers and inverters available With the SUNSYNK/DEYE Inverter you have 3 options of integrating a wind turbine. Option 1 3 Phase from wind turbine to MPPT based DC controller that rectifies the AC to DC then Coupled to the battery bank 51.2 VDC or 48 VDC depending on the battery brand and type. The turbine controller needs to be configured to match the battery. The turbine generator will be matched to the low voltage output. Option 2 3 Phase from wind turbine to MPPT based DC controller that rectifies the AC to DC then Coupled to the MPPT on the SUNSYNK/DEYE output on the controller would then be 360 VDC and couples to the MPPT input on the SUNSYNK/ DEYE inverter you will also need to program the power curve of the turbine into the Inverter so the MPPT knows how much power the turbine generates and what voltage between 0 and 360 VDC.Option 3 3 Phase from wind turbine to the wind turbine inverter which is essentially a Grid tied wind turbine inverter output on this inverter will be 230 VAC @ 50HZ this wind turbine inverter will already have the power curves for the generator programed into it normally a 20 to 32 point power curve. The wind turbine inverter AC couples to the GEN Port on the SUNSYNK/DEYE and also Solis inverter. On the SUNSYNK/DEYE you are limited to 50% of the capacity of the inverter on the SOLIS you can go 1 to 1 Ratio allowing larger turbine integration. MPPT integration on the SOLIS is not refined yet we are waiting on SOLIS to provide a Programmable power curve function for their range of inverters the Inverters can accept constant voltage input however this is still not ideal because the DC controllers produce variable voltage and there are very limited constant voltage controllers available in the market and they are very expensive.Solis is currently working on a couple of addons that will make wind turbine integration easier they have just recently sorted out their Frequency Shifting function that allows the turbine via the wind turbine inverter to charge the batteries as a priority and will only start frequency shifting when the battery is at 99% capacity. Frequency shifting will stop the turbine from producing energy. I hope this gives you some perspective !
April 24, 20251 yr Author Thanks, this explains it for me. I'm in the midst of setting up Option 3, and will need to source a Grid tied wind turbine inverter with 3ph 350AC input and 230 VAC output for the sunsynk.

If you are using a single phase susnsynk then you will need 230V 50 HZ wind turbine inverter however if they are setup as a 3 Phase setup then the 3 Phase Wind turbine inverter will work.
