HOYMILES GRID TIE MICROINVERTER 1200W

Featured Replies

Hi

Anybody heard of or using this make of microinverter, are they any good? Would you use microinverters or rather buy an Axpert inverter if they were around the same price?

Axpert if you ask me. EAch panels gets rather hot, having a microinverter behind it on the hottest time working at full power ... not my cup of tea.

And for us in Cpt, they are not on "the list".

Micro-inverters are grid-tied units. The difference is you have one small one PER PANEL rather than a larger one for several panels. I believe some Hoymile models are even on the infamous Cape Town list.

It is however a completely differnet beast to the Axpert. Being grid-tied, it goes down when the grid goes down. No backup. So a comparison is kinda apples and oranges.

They are on the CT list - both the MI-600 and MI-1200.

From our experience, these have a super duper low failure rate. To date, we've had 0 failures - and we've installed a few hundred.

These microinverters also only start limiting their power from 80 degrees Celsius. Optimizer solutions start reducing power from 60 or 65 degrees Celsius, I think.

Hi,

Ellies has Micro-inverters: 1200W and 600W. This inverters provide system optimizer which Axpert inverters cannot provide with a single MPPT. Optimization provide your panels with maximum performance despite shading of some part of PV array. However, some manufactures are developing optimizers for their inverters which comes at an additional cost.
