Deep / high cycle battery for camping fridge

Featured Replies

Depends how often you use it. You should look at the standby time specs rather than the number of cycles as I imagine it only gets used from time to time. In fact it may be most cost effective to buy a cheap battery before your trip and work it hard, next year buy a new one.

Cheap in a 100Ah battery is sadly not very cheap 🙂  Got a quote for a Ritar 100Ah deep cycle AGM @ R2600.

Where are you buying from?

+-R 1850 last time I checked for a 105ah "deep cycle" leisure battery.

This quote was from batteriesonline.co.za - they're associated with Deltec in Paarden Island, and prices are generally quite good.

What was your R1850 battery's brand and specs?
