June 24, 20196 yr Hi all Can't find a direct answer to this. If there is a write up on the topic please direct me there. i know its not all ways advisable to use 3-phase inverters as they will balance at the lowest load, but can you use three separate grid tied inverters, one on each phase to supply 3-phase power to 3-phase equipment. All pure grid-tied, no backup. TIA
June 24, 20196 yr Yes, no problem. Since each box will sync with "his" phase, everything will work as expected. You will have a full 3phase system and the rotating electromagnetic field too. For example SMA has desings like this. 3phase backup is more complicated.
June 24, 20196 yr We have found the best solution to this is microinverters - since you can put different amounts of PV on each phase to match consumption thereon. We've used Hoymiles which is working really well - it throttles to match the consumption of each phase; not the lowest or average phases.
