Relay not working as it should

Featured Replies

Hi,

Wasn't sure where to put this but I use it for lighting so thought this might work.

I have three Centurion (Centsys) receivers with the nt72c-s10 relay (as pictured). I am connecting them via a 48v-24v DC-DC converter to my LED lighting. They were working fine but the wiring was a mess so in my infinite wisdom I thought I'd rewire.

Two are working fine wired exactly as they are in the picture but the one clicks and lights up when the programmed remote button is pressed but then clicks straight off again. The light does come in during this brief on and off period.

The ones the work click once when remote pressed and light stays on and then clicks again when remote pressed to turn light off.

Any ideas why this one is not behaving like the others?

Some of these can be programmed to have latching behaviour, or not. Usually by moving a jumper. But I don't see one other than the "Learn" one.

Also, remove the load and see if it still does it. Sounds like a silly thing, but dummy-mode (or approaching it with the eyes of someone who walked in the door and is starting from scratch) is sometimes a good debugging practice.

Section 15 looks more applicable, but kudos on finding the manual so fast 🙂

Thanks so much, guys! Section 15 it was. I had Googled and found all sorts of instructions on how to program the remote but not how to change the mode. I now have three working remote controlled LED lights!

Hey ClintZA

About 4 years ago I used this very method for a 12V lighting system, but used a different brand of receiver relay. I don’t even remember the name.

What I distinctly remember is that the live feed that I was switching to the light had 3 possible inputs on the board. The one combination (two of the three connectors) did what you describe (light staying on only when the button on the remote was pressed) the other combination switched on until the button was pushed a second time to switch off. These boards of yours might be the same. Try putting the wires into a different input/output combination.
