Just phone a few scrap metal dealers. They pay per kg in weight. Just sold all my old bike and gate motor batteries this way. 200Ah I got about R10/kg

I take my old batteries to my local Battery Centre and they give me cash for them.

While we are on MC4 training here😝 take a look at the video from Greenwood solutions trainer Veli for some very good pointers.
 

Just one thing - sometimes, unexperienced installers make a good crimp, but do not push the pin into the MC4 connector deep enough. Then, the pins in male and female part are barely touching each other.
 
There must be audible click heard when pushing the crimped pin in.

Talia, thanks so much for your assistance. I disconnected and tested each panel. They all looked fine, which concerned me as I felt I had my resolved the issue. However, it did resolve it! My assumption is that it was indeed one of the connections and by disconnecting, testing and reconnecting, I resolved it.

More technically skilled people than me can advise.
 
One lightning strike could cost you more than the price of those SPDs. On my system there's an SPD, a fuse (cylindrical) and a breaker per string. You're not protecting just the cabling, you're protecting the inverter too. Also if you're trouble shooting, it's handy to be able to disconnect those inputs. 
 
Then you won't need SPDs between the non-present grid and the inverter.

Not a lot of help but i've measured my MP II 5000 & that was throwing out 58db whilst loaded up with 6000W using a phone sound meter app(sound meter) 

IMO you should be fine with just one cable (but I would choose 2.5mm to be safe)

24V will be fine if you stay under <3000W. The big thing is the cable sizes that need to handle the current. For the same power (W) you will double the current when you half the voltage. The cost of the cables and difficulty working with such think wires is why you would want to move to 48V with a system >2000W. 
We are talking about the cables between your MPPT and battery, and battery to inverter. You PV cables is not influenced.

Sorry, forgot about that one. It will give you the SOC of the complete bank, but in a perfect scenario, all the batteries in the bank will be charged and discharged at the same rate. If connected correctly, you can expect minute differences, but nothing serious, As a bank ages the difference becomes bigger and you might have single batteries fail on you, but to find them, you need to test separately. 

I bought these to test, connected it in series with a Victron BMV, After day 1 there was a 1.7 % difference, After a week there was a 17% difference and after 2 weeks the difference was almost 40%. When the BMV indicated 100% these Chinese units indicated 60%. Then after I brought a hammer into the equation the display on these meters were totally unreadable. 
Please dont waste your money.

Thanks to this forum I've already been successfully assisted twice with my solar set up, so I thought it only polite that I introduce myself. 
We have a small, and I mean small (not sure how familiar everyone is with the "tiny house" and minimalist movements), place up in the Upper Highway area of KZN. The intention is to try and reduce our impact on the environment (and reduce costs!). We'll never eliminate the negative impact but we can try to reduce it. 
We are not connected to municipal services at all. Rain water is harvested and filtered for all our water needs. Power is provided by solar and supplemented by gas for hot water and cooking. Waste is dealt with via a septic tank. We are also getting a veggie garden going but we'll need to build an enclosure before we get fully into that (vervet monkeys!). We have also planted a number of fruit trees with more to come. In the garden we are looking to be very water wise so succulents and a bunch of spekboom. 
Anyway, that is us. Look forward to learning more from this forum. This last year has taught me plenty but there is a lot more to learn.

Thanks so much, guys! Section 15 it was. I had Googled and found all sorts of instructions on how to program the remote but not how to change the mode. I now have three working remote controlled LED lights!

Section 15 looks more applicable, but kudos on finding the manual so fast 🙂

Some of these can be programmed to have latching behaviour, or not. Usually by moving a jumper. But I don't see one other than the "Learn" one.
Also, remove the load and see if it still does it. Sounds like a silly thing, but dummy-mode (or approaching it with the eyes of someone who walked in the door and is starting from scratch) is sometimes a good debugging practice.
