November 9, 20196 yr Are you using the provided RJ-45 to D9 cable? The RJ-45 connector is not ethernet, it's RS232. You will need a compatible USB to serial adapter, the known-good ones use a PL2303 chip. If you are attempting to send and receive commands, you need to set the serial port to 2400/N/8/1, and there are CRCs to deal with.
